  • To serve the present age: reconsidering the mission of the church on campus for the twenty-first century
Abstract
  • To serve the present age: reconsidering the mission of the church on campus for the 21st century addresses the changing landscape of United Methodist ministry on public university campuses. Using the Wesley Foundation at UNC Chapel Hill and nearby University United Methodist Church, the author examined the history of campus ministry in this setting and researched the theology of mission and the United Methodist connection. Using curriculum based on that research and taught to students, church, and campus ministry board members, the author determined that partnership between campus ministries and congregations is both possible and desirable to address the changing landscape.
