- The purpose of this project was to equip the ministerial staff of First Baptist Church, Madison, Mississippi, in team building leadership skills. Training included six instructional sessions that lasted one and a half hours each. The sessions were taught from the text of Matthew 4:18-20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Timothy 2:1-7; Ephesians 4:29-32; John 15:5-8; and Matthew 9:16-17. The sessions were presented in one-week intervals with assignments to personally apply the content between sessions. The six sessions included a common purpose, clear role expectations, solid relationships, team processes, leadership, and communication. The goals of this project were as follows: to research team building leadership skills in order to develop teaching plans to equip the staff in team ministry, to develop teaching plans in order to equip the staff in team building leadership skills, and to equip the staff to practice team building leadership skills. The professional goals of this project were to increase the project director's knowledge of team building leadership skills, and to increase the project director's skill in curriculum design. Each of these goals was to be evaluated based on certain standards agreed upon with this project.
