- Abstract
- This project was designed to learn how Christian believers can be motivated in financial stewardship. A biblical and theological framework is constructed. A review of stewardship literature notes the pledge and free-will methods utilized by different churches. Insights applicable to the church setting are also gleaned from fund-raising literature. Following an experimental project, highlighted by a series of sermons and a seminar class, the author concludes that the teaching of scriptural truth, the modern day application of biblical principles, and a non-manipulative, tactful style of presentation are key factors in motivating Christians to exercise faithful stewardship in finances.
