Abstract

Over a span of 30 years, one of India’s most significant and long-lasting revivals took place in Arunachal Pradesh, in spite of severe local and systematic government-led persecutions. Christianity surged in the area unprecedentedly, following various miracles and healings. As persecution increased, the church grew, and the reason was the relentless prayer and faithfulness of the children of God. This is an encouraging example to all the suffering Christians in India and throughout the globe. In the face of severe persecution and other internal and external challenges facing the church in Arunachal Pradesh, it is absolutely vital that pastors, leaders and believers in churches be strengthened and rooted in the Word of God, effectively to bring growth in order to have biblically sound congregations. The series of Inductive Bible Study will empower Christians to withstand these challenges with the power of the Holy Spirit.A workshop “How to Study the Bible Effectively” was conducted in the Pasighat of East Siang District, A.P. The study facilitated learning tools to interpret the Bible inductively, to explore means to conduct an in-depth study especially in mission fields where literary resources are not readily available. The purpose of this study was to develop and sharpen the theological understanding for enrichment in biblical studies and to provide opportunity for ministry enhancement to pastors, evangelists and lay leaders in the SAF Mt Carmel Prayer Center, Pasighat, East Siang district. The results of the study determined that inclusion of Inductive Bible study techniques in personal daily practice and regular church gatherings will empower believers to be instrumental in spiritual growth, for renewal of faith, inspiration, encouragement and revival and be more productive and useful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
