- Abstract
- This project proposes that liberation theology, with its emphasis on praxis, is a powerful corrective to individualistic and privatized religion among 'mainline' Protestant churches in North America, and examines the educational dimensions of this theology and its implications for a North American liberative-based communal ministry. Based on the work of Robert McAfee Brown, Paulo Freire, Gustavo Gutierrez, and other liberation theologians, the project presents a model for liberative education to be applied among churches in the North American context.
