Abstract
  • In life and times of crisis in this world we live I and through relationships and process that lead, guide and comfort us. This thesis outlines the biblical, theological and psychological understandings of marriage and family systems and processes. This thesis also outlines methods of assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and marital and also family therapy; as well as typical reactions to disaster, violence, loss, abuse, divorce and other crisis as they affect individuals, families and other systems. This theoretical base is then 'tested' in a case study involving a family in crisis and the understandings and methods used to work with this family in their journey to growth individually and collectively as people of God.
