Abstract
  • A Christian community for single adults, intentional in offering personal affirmation and spiritual fulfillment, can be designed for those committed to long-term residency or to short-term renewal. The single adults in Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas, are engaged in designing and implementing the model for such a community. In this practicum/project, methodology includes questionnaires, Sunday school lessons, a course on prayer, design teams and retreats. A small minority of the single adults participates in a continuing prayer fellowship. For these, long-term commitment and experience must precede the possible founding of a residential or retreat-oriented community.
