Abstract
  • This study analyzes leadership practice and understanding as perceived by the laity and the pastor in a Baptist church, to discover if the laity would articulate and actualize leadership practice more consistent with the mutualism inherent in the priesthood of all believers. With insights from feminist theology and organizational behavior, research methodology was based upon principles of phenomenology, with the researcher functioning as a participant observer. As a result of their theological reflection, participants moved toward a less hierarchical approach to leadership.
