Abstract
  • The urban church is isolated in its attempts to bring about change through its individual efforts. As the church has a vested interest in helping create a community where people participate in helping shape the city's future, it is crucial that the local church find ways to have broader-based involvement. Using community organizing, and its process of interviews, research, analysis and action, the project's task was to discover self-interests and values of congregational members, and then reflect upon this information theologically to give direction to the Bunker Hill Congregational Church's mission in the city of Waterbury, Connecticut.
