Abstract
  • Changes that take place within a culture impact the church and its ministry. This study assesses how well the leadership has enabled the church to be a transformative presence in the Jamaican culture during the period 1967-2012. The research uncovered that with a new emerging culture many changes that needed to be implemented by an effective leadership did not happen. A number of leadership qualities are put forward that should enable the Methodist Church once again to become a transforming presence in the Jamaican culture.
