Abstract
  • This project proposes a specialized ministry for an already existing volunteer pastoral visitation program used by a medical center chaplaincy department. The project presents an education module to train senior adults as pastoral peer ministers. Four churches sent six senior adult lay ministers to training sessions at a religiously affilated hospital. The project provided an avenue of community outreach endorsed and encouraged by the medical center's mission statement.
