Abstract
  • This project presents an ecclesiological and missiological guide to new church development. The project enlists 12 members, from varied backgrounds, of Faith United Methodist Church in Indian Trail, North Carolina, to participate in eight study sessions exploring the ecclesiological purposes for which the church exists, the culture and needs of the community, and the missionary and evangelistic action required from the church. The project produces a foundational document that may serve as a guide to new church development in western North Carolina. Post-session interviews and participant questionnaires reveal that all participants gained new understanding of ecclesiological and missiological bases for new church development.
