  • The purpose of this project was to develop a new member orientation program that encouraged the new member to become a participant in the ministry of the church. A program was implemented that motivated new members to be involved in regular Bible study, exercising spiritual gifts, support of church finances, and personal witnessing. Four cyclical classes, each addressing one of the areas noted and operating autonomously, were developed to provide the new member with immediate access to the assimilation process. The project director concluded that the program did increase participation by the new members in the ministry of the church.
