Abstract
  • This research study revolves around the quest for a possible interdisciplinary integration of the empowerment construct in organizational management in missions engagement. The development of an exit strategy in missions partnership serves as the backdrop from which this investigation evolved. The literature on empowerment, the historical review of Converge Worldwide's sixty years of engagement in the Philippines, and the literature on missions exit strategies were critically read and analyzed in this study. In addition, the researcher conducted surveys and interviews to assess the current realities, challenges, and trends in doing missions in the Philippines. These were all done to find clues on how the empowerment theory and praxis might guide the leaders of Converge Worldwide and the Baptist Conference of the Philippines, as they move forward in strengthening and expanding their movement in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asian region.
