Abstrait
  • It is not religion that identifies a people, but culture. There is no way of being human without participating in culture, for it is through culture that human community is created. This dissertation is a study of the work of 19th century missionaries into Chinland, Union of Burma. An evaluation of the data shows that these missionaries were not sensitive enough to the indigenous culture and tradition of the Chin. As a result of this study, Christian workers and missionaries will develop a healthy attitude towards different cultures, so they will do more effective mission work across cultural boundaries.
