- Abstract
- The research question addressed was: Will a membership class designed to assimilate professionals and university students and that focuses on the mission of Parkview Church and on one's role in fulfilling that mission actually increase the participant's level of commitment to Parkview and its ministries? The thesis used to test the research question was: Increased organizational commitment results when an individual's personal meaning fits with organizational mission. The hypothesis that poststudy commitment level scores would be higher than prestudy commitment level scores was satisfied. The mean change for the seven subcategories of commitment was statistically significant to the 0.05 level.
