Abstract
  • More people live in cities today than ever before in global history. Cities are filled with diverse people, problems, needs, and resources. Many urban teenagers struggle to survive amidst the diverse and challenging context of the cities. Demographic changes will bring more culturally diverse groups of people into the communities and churches of cities. Church youth programs that are rooted in universal and normative principles are inadequate to youth. What is needed are multicultural urban youth ministries informed by critical social analysis of city structures and systems in relation to the youth population.
