- Clergy couples face unique problems in the church, in employment and the interpretation of their professional ministry, even as they model a paradigm of marriage and ministry that is crucial to the future of the church. This dissertation/project offers material on the context of clergy couples and presents differing models of marriage and ministry. It provides a resource for PCUSA clergy couples, denominational staff and pastor nominating committees based on interviews with clergy couples. The resource offers practical information, assistance and advice regarding the problems and possibilities of the different employment configurations available to clergy couples.
