Abstract
  • One of the most challenging and critical stages of a new church development comes when the congregation chooses to leave its temporary meeting site and build its own facility on its own site. Such a move creates new mission opportunities while, at the same time, exposing the congregation to enormous and complex risks. Michael Porter's ananlysis of the forces governing competition in a business model suggests helpful strategies for effective pastoral leadership for a new church development going through the building process.
