Abstract
  • This thesis focuses on the role of the seminary president in evangelical theological education in North America. The research that formed this thesis came out of the author's work with the Center for the Development of Evangelical Leadership, a Lilly Endowment research grant given to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. The premise of this study is that presidents of evangelical theological schools are in strategic leadership positions to bring transformational change to the schools they serve. The Center for the Development of Evangelical Leadership (CDEL) proposed a specific paradigm of call, character, competence, and community that served as a basis for the sutdy of the office of seminary president.
