Abstrakt

This project enlists, trains, and supervises lay shepherds to lead small ministry groups in West Side United Methodist Church (Charleston, W Va). A support group provides worship, pastoral supervision, and training for the shepherds. The worship builds community and personal identity; the training conveys basic pastoral skills. The shepherds grow in self-awareness for ministry, ability to think theologically, and use of pastoral skills.
