  • The author explored the question can we use indigenous stories, folklore, legends, etc. in reaching to provide occasions through which a congregation may experience the gospel as judgment and grace? The reader is led through a discussion of the communication eras ultimately to understand the secondarily oral society thriving in Appalachia today. oral stories are recorded, transcribed, and edited for sermonic use in story sermons. The results revealed the significant benefit to be gained through the use of story sermons within congregational settings.
