Abstract
  • This project relates specifically to the response phase of the every member response (EMR). It is a method for doing the EMR with a small group for a period of six weeks, with emphasis on a biblical and theological understanding of Christian stewardship. The intention is to provide more depth and involvement in the mission of the congregation, resulting in increased member participation and support. A pilot test was conducted at Grace Lutheran Church (Wyndmoor, PA), resulting in significant increases in pledges of time, abilities and resources. In terms of financial pledges, the average increase was 12.6 percent.
