  • By utilizing biblical and historical contexts combined with creative and dynamic approaches to Christian education and ministry, small town and rural congregations can impact their future in a changing community. An overview of the historical backgrounds and contemporary contexts of a small town church and a rural church provide the setting for the project. A variety of carefully chosen projects are described that are intended to lead to empowerment of the congregation through development of lay leadership. A dynamic model of the church based primarily on Acts 2 with implications from Wesley and Bonhoeffer are foundational to the project.
