Abstract
  • The project utilized a specially designed questionnnaire, 'Personal Religious Ideas and Interest Profile'. The writer also developed a workbook-journal, 'A Consumer's Guide to Personal Religious Beliefs,' for use by the unchurched and evaluation by the writer. Research revealed a high level of religious thought among unchurched participants. Content was almost equally representative of Eastern and Western religious systems. Participants were primarily interested in religious ideas that answered questions about how God operates in relationship with the world and life after death. Given the interest in and activity of religious ideas among the unchurched, the conclusion is that it is important to identify and orient evangelism toward religious ideas of the unchurched.
