Abstract
  • Helping members discover their unique spiritual gifts will result in more involvement in ministry. Interventions were made employing educational and formation processes: (1) educating the leadership about the value of actualizing spiritual gifts, (2) awakening persons to the idea and benefit of gifts through sermons, (3) offering a class to help people discover and use their unique gifts, and (4) using gifts discernment in the officer nominating process. These interventions helped move the congregation to understand and value spiritual gifts, enabled a core group of members to actualize their gifts, and fostered an understanding of ministry as a shared activity among the whole congregation.
