Abstract
  • The project studies the shared ministry of 47 senior and associate pastors. Questionnaires and personal interviews provide basic information. The results indicate the necessary ingredients of effective shared ministry. The author sees shared ministry as holding both the possibilities for exceptional service and demoralized apathy among pastors. He exposes the ideals of the call to ministry, the ministry of all Christians, collegiality and the recognition of personality traits and leadership styles. Working agreements are seen as a necessity in this process. Helpful guidelines are included for cabinets, local churches and pastors who are interested in shared ministry.
