Abstract
  • This project proposes that healing and spiritual growth can best be obtained from a combination of pastoral counseling groups and individual counseling. The author, a chaplain serving in the Air Force, met the pastoral care needs of airmen at Osan Air Base in Korea through a pastoral care program of group and individual counseling. Assessing group attendance and pastoral care needs the author found that a combination of individual counseling and small group attendance was most effective for spiritual health. A theology is proposed that salvation/health is a matter of the creation of community as well as individual belief.
