Abstract
  • The thesis is the senior pastor is the most significant agent of paradigm change in the declining megachurch. Major problems facing Crystal EFC upon the arrival of a new pastor in 1990 included lack of leadership, unclear spiritual identity, loss of vision, inward focus, lack of cohesive systems, and fragmented staff. Major symptoms included declining attendance, financial deficit, internal discord, and low morale. Each area was impacted by initiating alternative concepts and practices drawn from Scripture and espoused by experts. Five-year results show substantial progress in each problem area. The writer assumes the validity of personal observation, recognized experts and futuristic study.
