Abstract
  • This project examines the linkage between preaching and institutional development, to illustrate how preaching led to the development of institutions out of Friendship Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Biblical preaching, when effective, causes tangible change. The project analyzes corporate minutes of the church, excerpts of selected sermons, surveys of church and outreach ministry boards, a survey of the church membership, a survey of selected outsiders, and a revisit to previous studies prepared for seminary courses.
