Abstract
  • This project paper is a reflection on two experiences of pastoral leadership through conflict and after conflict, one in a congregational setting and one in a denominational setting. The particular focus of the paper is finding resources to deal with remaining trauma after the conflict has been officially declared settled. This paper offers the framework of illness narrative as a resource for understanding and healing church conflict. Resources from biblical and theological sources are also explored. Finally, practices are drawn from these reflections and resources to assist church leaders in helping move churches beyond conflict management toward wholeness.
