Abstract

Title: The development of a written policy and corresponding procedures for funding irrevocable and revocable trusts by donors with charitable intent toward Southern Baptist causes assisted by the staff of the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma. Project director: Dan J Rainbolt. The intention of this project is to guide the estate planning and trust administration staff, general counsel and controller of the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma to develop a written policy for funding irrevocable and revocable trusts and improve procedures for funding trusts to the extent that there are corresponding written guidelines for funding trusts of donors with charitable intent toward Southern Baptist causes. The project will be accomplished with the help of an ad-hoc committee of 10 persons serving as the 'Trust Creation Task Force.' The task force will propose a funding policy to be officially approved by the board of directors of the Foundation. Corresponding procedures will be graphically represented and adopted by the Foundation administration to be included in the staff procedure manual. Flow charts accompany the paper to describe the transfer of any potential asset into a trust.
