Abstract
  • This research examines ideas concerning theology of arts using John Wesley's spiritual sense, Origen the church father, and the thinking of John Locke. Using Wesley's spiritual experience, this research explores the necessity of an artistic ministry based on a theology of art, and applies it to the ministry of Gochon Church. This thesis analyzes the effects on local residents through practice of temporal arts (arts based on tempo) as manifested by the Gimpo Youth orchestra and professional artists, and spatial art in the Gochon Church building, which includes Café Theba, Cross gallery, and a professional art hall. In consequence of this project, people of every class, divided into groups in the local area, began to live in harmony with the church, and the lives of church members also grew into full maturity and sanctification, local residents and church members clearly arrived at a mutual understanding and experienced the possibility of unification.
