Abstract
  • The thesis of this report was that by following the small-group process prescribed by Aubrey Malphurs in his book, Developing a Vision for Ministry for the 21st Century (Grand Rapids: Baker, 1992), the traditional church may recover a vision for ministry. The third step of the methodology, which involved drafting a vision statement, was tested over a four-month period with the First Baptist Church of Media, PA. The result was that the church adopted the vision statement and was able to regain an outward focus and was motivated to seek means of outreach to its community.
