- Abstract
- One church increased ministry and mission funding through designated and planned giving. Projects selected for support and interpreted included camp scholarships, foreign missionaries, and a truck stop ministry. Presentations were made on planned giving, and an endowment policy was adopted. These changes were supported by a study of the offering for the Jerusalem church, motivations for giving, and four key theological concepts: God as owner, image of God, partnership, and connectedness. Evaluations by questionnaire and telephone survey showed people increased mission support and gave to endowment. Recommendations suggest churches make designated and planned giving part of their funding plan.
