Abstract
  • Looking at both presiding roles (Eucharist and parish pastoral council) simultaneously provided the researcher with an opportunity to trace the bond of the presider of Eucharist to the presider of the parish community in and through the ministry of the parish pastoral council. To consider only liturgical presiding seems to neglect a holistic understanding of presiding. Five case studies of pastors in the local church of Greensburg, PA provided the core content of the research. The comparative analysis surfaced the following three agreements. Both presiding roles involve: (1) integration of the parts (2) connection to pastoral life (3) spokesperson for the parish.
