Abstract
  • This major project applied the emerging model of the missional church to the Springfield United Methodist Church. Its goals and objectives were adopted from Patrick Keifert's approach to church growth as set for in We are here now: A new missional era. (2006, Eagle, Idaho: Allelon Publishing). Three exercises were employed to (1) create an awareness of the need for change and to identify church leaders who are innovators and early adopters; (2) appraise the heritage, skills, and spiritual gifts of the congregation; and (3) take a fresh look at the community to discern its needs. Some possible missional forays into the community were identified.
