Abstract
  • This thesis proposes that the preacher is a transformative leader who can train the congregation to become active participants in the ministry of preaching. The preacher needs to analyze the ministerial context and invite the congregation to share their concerns, interests and questions about preaching. It suggests that the preacher should withdraw his/her controlling power over the congregation so that the laity can work together with the preacher by sharing the ministry, including preaching. The laity can become active collaborative partners of the preacher who allows them to participate in the process of sermon preparation and evaluation.
