Abstract
  • I believe that expository preaching will change the lives of women when properly applied. It is my belief that spiritual growth will result in changed lives if there us proper application of the Word of God, in spite of circumstances or challenges. I want to examine my hypotheses regarding the relationship between expository preaching and spiritual growth among African American women of multiple generations. As means of determining how expository preaching, when appropriately applied, can lead to spiritual growth among multigenerational African American women, I used a variety of methods. I administered empirical studies, developed teaching curriculums, preached sermons, and received both written and verbal feedback from the women of Second Calvary Baptist Church between the ages of 26 and 80. The core values, and listening characteristics of men and women were examined to demonstrate the differences in information processing.
