Abstract
  • This study explores the connection of spirituality and organizational structure with the goal of stimulating a more lively spirituality and faithful Christian discipleship. More specifically, a covenant-based spirituality model was implemented in the organizational life of the First United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with each of the committees, councils, and boards participating in the process. A pre- and post-project questionnaire was designed and conducted to measure the impact of the covenant-based spirituality model on individuals, committees, and the congregation. In addition, a questionnaire was provided to those who were directly involved in the implementation of the covenant process. The data from these evaluation tools indicate an obvious deepening of spirituality and a more faithful Christian discipleship for individuals committees, and the church.
