Abstract
  • This project synthesizes expository preaching and small groups to strengthen both important ministries. Chapter 2 presents the argument that the biblical pattern for ministry involves consistently and repetitiously applying truths that have already been established and taught. Chapter 3 offers analysis and synthesis of current research in the field of homiletics in order to develop steps for application-oriented sermons and follow-up groups. Chapters 4 and 5 present the method and successful results of the project and reveal that implementing a small group discussion subsequent to and based on the sermon encourages further internalization of the biblical message.
