Abstract
  • This project proposes that identity clarification, adoption of an affirming, biblical model of the church, and self-definition in relation to environment can help a small congregation to better understand itself and see the distinctiveness of its calling in a particular location. Using a workshop and a focus group to gather information about the church in its environment, the project moves a congregation to appropriate a biblical model of community in alternative consciousness, and the congregation experiences a surge of energy and a new vision of its role in the community.
