- Abstract
- This project describes a learning process of researching, writing, teaching, and evaluating a thirteen week membership class series for new members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Xenia, Ohio. The goals of this project are: 1) to systematize some practical, life-related biblical principles that have shaped the scriptural understanding of present church members; 2) to develop a means of introducing new members to these principles; 3) to facilitate the orientation of new members to the biblical concepts that have influenced the church family; 4) to help new members identify areas of personal need and find initial solutions, visualizing the church as a resource for growth and development; 5) to provide small group learning experiences, giving opportunity for bonding, security, and friendship. The validation of the project is supported by both theology and survey resources. The teacher manual of thirteen lessons appears in appendix 2.
