- Abstract
- This project seeks to show how a wealthy western church can invest large amounts of money in missions in the most strategic and responsible way. The research method was to conduct open-ended interviews with leaders in churches, mission agencies, and foundations in order to build a philosophy of giving large financial grants. The research discloses that giving is best done through partnerships that are relational in nature. Three levels of strategic importance are delineated. Special attention is given to ways of giving that promote local initiative and avoid unhealthy dependence on outside funds.
