Abstract
  • This project brings the pew closer to the pulpit by engaging the laity in the preparation of the liturgy. Included are worship services for a women's retreat, the heavy-laden Christmas, a women's Lenten program, a wedding anniversary, high school graduates and their parents, and four Sunday mornings. The methodology includes a study of Reformed worship and scripture, theological reflection, theme development, informing liturgy, and sharing ideas for sermon development. The most powerful implication of this diverse study upon the local pastorate is that many common life experiences may become opportunities for worship, and enable the laity to be dynamically involved in preparing Reformed worship.
