Abstract
  • Early in the twentieth century a Vincentian priest, Thomas Judge, gathered lay people to become missionaries 'in the providence of their everyday lives.' Father Judge promoted a particular spirituality to support his missionary movement. He centered that spirituality on a 'devotional knowledge' of the major mysteries of the faith, particularly devotion to the Trinity. This study creates a dialogue between the charism of Father Judge and the work of contemporary theology. Theological developments are shown to supplement and support the founding insight of the Cenacle charism. Themes are discovered which are useful in preaching the missionary vocation.
