Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to identify spiritually enriching formational components that enabled Park United Methodist Church to encourage twenty-five people to enter full-time vocational Christian service in order to empower current parishioners who are experiencing the call to vocational ministry. I interviewed congregations, ministers and influential leaders. Qualities that raise the level of response to vocational calling were 1) an expectation that God will anoint leaders who are called by Christ; 2) a belief that all people are called to use their spiritual gifts; 3) a high value placed on spiritual formation.
