  • As youth ministry has begun to take hold and bear fruit in the Catholic Church of the United States in the years following the Second Vatican Council, the need to involve young people themselves in ministry has become increasingly evident. This project report offers: a theological and developmental context for ministry with and by youth; a weekend training model for enabling peer ministry; short and long term evaluations of the model's effectiveness; and, finally, suggestions for expanding and improving the proffered model. The project affirms the basic viability of peer youth ministry and the retreat training model.
