Abstract
  • The thesis explores the use of a deliberate emphasis of peacemaking experiences. Particularly the word 'shalom' was used and related within the congregation that struggled with the issue of whether or not to remain in the near-urban area of a medium-sized city, or to relocate to an area in the same part of the city, but two miles away to gain room for growth. The anticipation was that the experiences would assist in the process of decision making by the congregation, and this was found to be true.
