Abstract
  • The initiation of Village Presbyterian Church represents a previously untried approach to New Church Development in the Presbytery of Los Ranchos. The church began without the acquisition of land for a permanent site. This paper sought to discern how the dislocated status of the church served to shape congregational identity, particularly in relation to the intention of becoming a missional community. The author offers an emerging picture of where the church is in relation to the vision of establishing a missional congregation and how the lack of a permanent site for worship has affected development. The emerging picture is the result of the written surveys, focus group discussion, and personal conversations.
